the more i think about, i dont want bavaria to be part of germany anyway. it's just too shamefull.
Exactly where is the Irish flag in Union Jack?
okay this seems to be the right place to ask:
A long while back when i still was in school (yes i know long long ago) we got told that the Union Jack is just called Union Jack if it is a flag used in maritim circumstances (navigators navy ships boats you got the clue). Is that actually true?
@sikes I thought it was the other way round , union jack in maritime circumstances , union flag in others (wouldnt be suprised if I got it wrong way round)
@orran the diagonal red cross on white background is the northern irish part , diagonal white cross on blue is scotish vertical/horizontal red cross on white is the english. dont really wish to say how valid the red cross is , all I know is the ulstermen wave red crosses but they are vertical/horizontal with a coat of arms at the centre of the cross, so I suppose it was made diagonal so that it could be seen diferent to the red cross from eng
Officially it is the Union Jack as sea, and the Union flag on land. And just to complicate matters the Royal Navy use the 'White Ensign' which is the Cross of St George (horizontal and vertical red line on a white background) with a small Union flag in the top left quadrent.
